The Summit 2013
The Value of the Traveller
The inaugural Summit 2013 brings together the previous SATTIC Conference and Gauteng Summit, and aims to create the definitive national platform for debate, dialogue, networking and engagement among the South African travel and tourism industry. The theme will be “The Value of the Traveller”.
As we await this action- and solution-driven forum, we urge everybody involved or having a stake in the sector to mark and hold these dates. With Gauteng occupying pole position in driving South Africa and Africa’s economy, we expect top notch and quality conversation at the Summit.
Speaking ahead of the formal launch TBCSA CEO, Mmatšatši Ramawela and Gauteng Tourism CEO Dawn Robertson commented that “The Summit was a vital platform to enable a meeting of minds across the entire tourism value chain and was absolutely vital in order to understand, appreciate and respond to the real value of the traveller and to achieve the objectives of the National Tourism Sector Strategy. We would encourage all key travel and tourism thought leaders and decision makers to earmark the 14th and 15th of October in their diaries.“
The Summit will provide a much needed national platform for top level dialogue, decision-making and action planning across the total value chain of the tourism economy. Participants will benefit from the insights and experience of global and national thought leaders as well as from having the opportunity to have their voices heard and influence the outcomes and action plans.
